Fall Fun In the Okanogan!

It’s hard to beat summer in the Okanogan, until Fall shows up! The days may be get shorter, but the days are still sunny and then the great fall colors appear. While  many of the tourists have thinned out a bit, this is a perfect time to advantage of our Autumn sunshine and hike, mountain bike or paddle through some of this breathtaking fall foliage.

Fall in the Okanogan is also a great excuse to sample some delicious local fruit. Fall harvests provide tasty pears, apples and cider. And if you’re a wine enthusiast, this is the time of year to visit some of the local wineries, like the RockWall winery in Omak, or some of the wineries further north, near Oroville, Washington, like Esther Bricques, Cooper Mountain, Lake Crest or the Okanogan Estate and Vineyards.

Okanogan County is also home to some great ghost towns, like Molson, which is in the highlands near the Canadian border. While the indoor museum is closed after Labor Day, the outdoor exhibits are open to the public year-round.
