Our History

When it comes to your title and escrow, you can rely on us. We’ve been helping our customers protect and secure their property purchases for over one hundred years. We’re the oldest operating business in the Okanogan County and we’ve been family operated from the first day.

 

Baines Title Company was founded in 1900 in Conconully, Washington by William Baines, who named it the Okanogan County Abstract Company. Later, in the 1950’s, the name was changed to Baines Title Company, Inc.

 

William Baines founded Baines Title as Okanogan County Abstract Company in 1900.
John M. Baines, son of William began working in the company in the 1920’s. John retired in 1957.
William A. Baines, grandson of William Baines began working in the company in 1947. Bill passed away in August 2002 and we miss him dearly, but his business legacy will continue on with his daughter Anita and granddaughter Kelly.
Anita Hopkins, daughter of William A. Baines, began working in the company in 196.
Kelly Townsend, granddaughter of William A. Baines began working in the company in 1999.
